Get Involved

Do you want to make your community safer? Get involved and encourage your neighbours to do the same. There are many ways for you to promote crime prevention, build a better neighbourhood and talk about community safety. Here are just a few:

Join the conversation

Connect with us on Facebook and share your thoughts on crime prevention and community safety issues. You can also follow Nancy Worsfold, our Executive Director, on Twitter. And don’t forget to visit Nancy’s blog. It’s full of crime prevention insights and analysis. We’d love to hear from you, so please join our conversation!

Subscribe to our Communiqué

Stay up-to-date regarding our latest activities by subscribing to the Crime Prevention Ottawa Communiqué. We’ll keep you informed of our upcoming events and news about our initiatives by email. Simply send us a request to sign up at cpo@ottawa.ca.

Use and promote the Neighbourhood Toolkit

Our Neighbourhood Toolkit is your one-stop resource for ideas on building better neighbourhoods and staying safe at home, at work and in your community. Bookmark it, use it and promote it to neighbours and friends.

Nominate someone for a Community Safety Award

Ottawa has many unsung heroes who strive to keep the streets safe and build stronger connections between residents. Every year, we recognize these leaders through the Community Safety Awards, which are held during Crime Prevention Week in November.  If you know someone who should be recognized, nominate them for an award. We’d love to hear their story.

Invite a CPO Ambassador to your community

Would you like Crime Prevention Ottawa to participate in an upcoming meeting or event? Our CPO Ambassadors connect us to communities across the city by representing CPO at neighbourhood events, information fairs and meetings. We have an impressive team of community leaders ready to bring you safety and crime prevention information and materials to share with your friends and neighbours. Drop us a line at cpo@ottawa.ca if you would like to book an Ambassador.
