Councillor Diane Deans, Chair

Diane Deans was first elected to Ottawa City Council in November 1994. In October 2018, Deans was re-elected to her eighth consecutive term and appointed as Chair of Crime Prevention Ottawa. She proudly represents over 48,000 south-end residents who live in Gloucester-Southgate Ward.

Diane is the Chair of the Community and Protective Services Committee which is responsible for the City’s Emergency & Protective Services (Fire & Paramedics), Bylaw Services, Parks & Recreation Services, and Social Services.

Councillor Deans is also a member of the City’s Transportation Committee, Finance and Economic Development Committee and the Member Services Committee. She is also a member of the Ottawa Community Land Development Corporation Board which is tasked with unlocking value in the City of Ottawa’s real estate portfolio through sustainable development.

Diane Deans holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Guelph. In 2006, Deans received the Consumers’ Choice Woman of the Year Award.
